The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod:
This story is about a boy, Vladimir Tod, in 8th grade who is part vampire. He lives in Bathory, a small city, with his Aunt Nelly. He lives with her because his parents died in a fire in their home. His dad was also a vampire, which is how
Vlad got to be one. His mother was not part vampire, which is why the Vampire Committee is hunting down Vlad, because his father dated a non-vampire. As the story continues Vlad runs in to the typical teen vampire things, drinking blood from bags, girls, school and the occasional bullies.

FeatureCast from the Past Reflection
Specific Concepts learned:
The war was fought on the same land that was Thomas Jefferson bought which was called the Louisiana Purchase. So if he hadn’t purchased it, thins might have changed in the Civil War
The Civil War is significant because it helped give people the freedom and rights that were in need, plus, it also made sure the United States didn't lose 11 of it states to succession.
Challenges:
I had a hard time finding out which information I collected was true or false. It was also hard to decide which information was important enough to go into my feature article.
Real World Significance
Because history repeats itself and we should we prepared if something happens in the future and we will know what to do. Like the Hurricane Katrina, for the next hurricane we will be better prepared and know what to do and what not to do.

My Querencia

Have you ever felt like you’re on top of the world? You own the world? The world is your playground? That’s the way I feel when I ride my ATV. My safe place, where I feel my best and powerful, is when I am cruising at high speeds far from humanity. I feel a sense of independence, and freedom. Just me and my ATV speeding in the mountains, miles from the city. I only feel weak and powerless when my ATV is broken or when I have my dad tail gaiting me. The freedom just washes away. When I ride it, its an indescribable feeling, no worries, Hakuna Matada. I feel the wind all over my body, I see squirrels and a lot of dirt, luckily I don’t taste any flies, I hear the air rushing by my ears and helmet, Knowing that you make your own decisions where I go, what I want to see, how fast I want to get there, how I want to get here, just makes it so much more fun for me. As soon as I touch the handles of my ATV, and start it up, I can just feel the power, energy and excitement rising through my fingers and my body. Even though I sometimes need a break from ATVing, its my passion and querencia for now and life.
